Generally speaking - if it can be exported, it can be migrated. For migrations, we often support with these types of needs:

  • Assuming we’re working with an Enterprise portal, we can create custom objects to accommodate any data that needs to live outside of HubSpot’s standard objects (Contacts, Companies, Deals, Tickets). Some common examples of common custom objects include: Events, Attendance, Registrations, and Property Addresses - or other Location-centric objects.

  • Methodical and meticulous data re-structuring to keep associations intact for not only standard objects, but also things like activities, notes, and parent/child company relationships. For migrations from Salesforce, contact opportunity roles  become association labels, and rollup fields become calculated fields.

Historical data around website traffic, email marketing performance, and form submission totals will not be migrated. That tracking will start fresh when you start using HubSpot. Features generated by third-party applications can usually be re-installed and synced, and each should be evaluated for compatibility. If you have questions about whether or not something specific can be migrated, please contact us for an evaluation.

We recommend some level of data cleanup in the existing system so that we’re starting fresh and leaving any inaccurate or outdated information behind. If you’ve got the time, consider checking for and merging duplicate records. If you’ve got a good number of records owned by prior employees, it’s a good time to re-assign them or decide to bucket them under a general unowned umbrella. Surveying users to compile details about custom views and reports they rely on can be helpful. We can recreate those things ahead of launch to ensure those team members have an easy time navigating when they log in to HubSpot.
